The Locust - Safety Second, Body Last

This is the what seems to be the overlooked EP by The Locust that came out after Plague Soundscapes but before New Erections. This ten minute song divided into several parts over two actual tracks is everything you love about the Locust from Plague's but where they started slowing down on their way to New Erections. This shit is solllllllidddd.

Samuel Jackson Five - Easily Misunderstood

This is a band i found recently on last.fm. That website is fucking awesome and everyone should have one. ANYWAYS, the Samuel Jackson Five is essentially California Smile meets Jaga Jazzist. or, they are on this album. This shit is fucking ridiculous. I need to get into this band some more.

The Littlest Viking - Labor & Lust

I found this California band on a blogspot one day and i downloaded it purely based on the band's name. It's hilarious. The music is kinda like an instrumental Maps & Atlases. But since it's instrumental it's way more complicated, and it's kicks alot more ass too. I highly recommend.

The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone

The Unicorns are delightful and poppy and super singalongable.
It's sure to put you in a good mood. Great flow from start to finish.

Irepress - Samus Octology

A great release from Boston's Irepress. It's super heavy post rock but alot of awesome chill and mellow and jazzy going on's. Their follow-up to this was okay, a few AMAZING parts sprinkled in. But it's real blah. But Samus Octology is a solid release.
Similar to East of the Wall, Caspian and California Smile.
