Alarma Man is pretty much an instrumental version of The Plot to Blow Up The Eiffel Tower but take out the sax and add synthy aspects and more abrasive tendencies. i like it alot.
Candy Claws is a band i found on other blogspots while trying to find noisy stuff like Cacaw and Lake of Dracula. The name reeled me in, the description sounded interesting enough. And pesto! this is some beautiful, delightful stuff. "Dream Pop" is a very very accurate description of this record. enjoy the fuck out of this.
Neil Halstead is this guy who i found out about on a above the influence commercial. Which is hilarious because i smoke soooo much pot. ANYWAYS, this record is really quite nice and pleasant and yay! download it yay! http://www.mediafire.com/?23izq2yyon2
Zach Hill, drummer of Hella. If you don't know who he is you struggle. But maybe you should do a littttttle research. If you do know, you know, you, just, know. Second solo record. guest appearances including Devendra Banhart, Guillermo Scott Herren (Prefuse 73) and members of No Age, Hella, and Deerhoof.
This is the what seems to be the overlooked EP by The Locust that came out after Plague Soundscapes but before New Erections. This ten minute song divided into several parts over two actual tracks is everything you love about the Locust from Plague's but where they started slowing down on their way to New Erections. This shit is solllllllidddd.
The debut solo album by Avery Tare of Animal Collective. Once again, i've yet to listen, this came out 3 days ago. I'm more than sure this is also going to be awesome.
A fantastic spazzy noise duo out of St. Louis. The Drummer was in Sleep State and is also the singer/guitarist of Glow Dick(see september) Guitarist/singer plays saxaphone in the Ultraviolets. Really awesome people as well!!! CHECK'EM OUT!!!
This is a band i found recently on last.fm. That website is fucking awesome and everyone should have one. ANYWAYS, the Samuel Jackson Five is essentially California Smile meets Jaga Jazzist. or, they are on this album. This shit is fucking ridiculous. I need to get into this band some more.
I found this California band on a blogspot one day and i downloaded it purely based on the band's name. It's hilarious. The music is kinda like an instrumental Maps & Atlases. But since it's instrumental it's way more complicated, and it's kicks alot more ass too. I highly recommend.
A great release from Boston's Irepress. It's super heavy post rock but alot of awesome chill and mellow and jazzy going on's. Their follow-up to this was okay, a few AMAZING parts sprinkled in. But it's real blah. But Samus Octology is a solid release. Similar to East of the Wall, Caspian and California Smile.
i saw this band play a gritty warehouse space in Providence this summer. they fucking blew my mind. two bass one drums. it's like the most badass aspects of queens of the stone age but way more badass. DO IT!
eventually i'll get around to uploading all of the Abe Vigoda albums considering they are one of my favorites and they are just so unknown to most. but Skeleton seems to be the hardest to acquire so, here ya go fuckers.
East of the Wall is a band from New Jersey that has been absolutely blowing my mind lately. Especially with this record(their debut) featuring ex members of The Postman Syndrome. THIS.SHIT.IS.EPIC.
i seem to have a thing for posting shit by bands who no longer exist anymore. Radiation 4 was a weird kinda grindcore band with vocals sent through a plethora of effects. mr. bungle meets sleepytime gorilla museum? maybe.
Nature/Nurture was a band from New Bedford Massachusetts that is so good the entire WORLD needs to know what they missed by not being from southeastern Massachusetts. angular and passionate and beautiful and OH.MY.GOD.THE.GUITAR.HARMONIES. this is a band who will sadly be missed but hey! atleast you can download their last release for free download.
some of the most brilliantly beautiful music i've ever ever ever EVER heard. two piece "folktronic pop" from Portland Oregon. modern classical meets instrumental hip-hop.
As my first post i'd like to upload the debut EP by Mother Night from New Bedford Massachusetts. This three piece instrumental math rock show terrific range in these 18 short minutes. Songs are always jumping from place to place to place. Anthemic one second and driving another but not before going somewhere completely different on a dime not allowing you to be comfortable.
i'm this guy in this(mothernight.bandcamp.com) band that pushes music on those who don't know any better and yet, should.
got something you want me to check out and possibly post?
